Do I still need health insurance if I join Primary Care Concierge?
Yes, maintaining health insurance is essential. Our concierge practice complements your existing coverage but doesn’t replace it. We recommend continuing your PPO, Medicare, or other insurance plans to cover services outside our offerings.
Will my insurance be billed for office visits?
Currently, we are in-network with Aetna and Medicare. For Aetna and Medicare-covered medical services, we will bill them directly, and standard co-payments and deductibles may apply. We will keep the website up to date as we become in network with other insurance providers. If you do not have health insurance, you can sign up for our direct care plan (cash pay visits).
Is there a co-payment for visits?
Depending on your insurance and plan, co-payments and deductibles may apply. For services outside of coverage, fees are covered under your membership without additional co-payments.
Are you affiliated with any hospitals?
If hospitalization is necessary, we coordinate your inpatient care and collaborate with hospital-based physicians to ensure continuity.
What about lab work, imaging, specialist fees, and hospitalization costs?
Services not performed in our office, such as lab tests, imaging, specialist consultations, or hospitalizations, will be billed by the respective providers. These costs should be covered by your insurance plan, subject to its terms.
Can I use HSA, FSA, or HRA funds to pay for the membership fee?
While we cannot provide tax advice, certain components of our services may qualify as medical expenses. We recommend consulting with your tax advisor or human resources representative to determine eligibility based on your specific plan and circumstances.
Is the membership fee tax-deductible?
The deductibility of medical expenses depends on various factors, including your annual gross income and total medical expenses. We advise consulting with a tax professional to assess whether your membership fee qualifies as a deductible medical expense.
What should I do if I become ill while traveling?
In case of a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately. For non-emergency situations, contact us first. We can provide guidance, coordinate care remotely, and, when appropriate, prescribe medications to a pharmacy near you.
How do specialist referrals work?
You are free to consult any specialist you choose. We assist in identifying suitable specialists, coordinating referrals, and ensuring your medical information is shared appropriately to facilitate seamless care. We will also reach out to our network of collaborating physicians and specialists for referrals and consultations.
Will I be charged the membership fee if I don't utilize services during the year?
Yes, the membership fee ensures that we are available to provide services as needed throughout the year. We encourage members to take full advantage of the services offered, including at least one annual visit, to maintain optimal health.
